Hi everyone — I’m validating an idea before writing any sync code, and this community seems like exactly the right place to get honest feedback.
The problem I keep running into:
Most tools that claim to sync Airtable with Google Sheets are actually one-way importers (Coefficient, Coupler, Dokin). Edit the sheet and nothing flows back to Airtable.
Unito does real 2-way sync but forces “UnitoID” and “Last Modified” columns into your sheet — delete them and the sync breaks — and costs $65–$299/mo.
DIY via Apps Script works until you rename a field or change a type.
What I’m building:
Twingrid — a Google Sheets add-on for real-time, 2-way Airtable ↔ Sheets sync that:
- Works both directions — edit in Airtable or Sheets, both update
- Adds no helper columns to your sheet
- Handles field types properly (linked records, multi-select, attachments, dates)
- Self-heals via a background reconciliation pass so it never silently drifts
- Starts at $15/mo
Where I’m at:
Pre-build. Waitlist is live at twingrid.io — I’m collecting signups and a short 3-question survey (which plan fits, what tool you use today, what breaks most often) before committing to build.
Would love your input:
- Do you currently sync Airtable data into Google Sheets? What do you use?
- Is 2-way a real need, or does one-way cover your workflow?
- What breaks most with whatever you’re using now?
Genuinely trying to figure out if this solves a real problem before spending months on it. Any feedback appreciated.
