I believe there is a known bug for the fact that It should be able to search record information even if it’s not displayed on the card. Does anyone know of a work-around?
How are you performing the search? There are many ways to search for data in Airtable.
If you want to search across all fields, you can use the Search extension.
If you want to search across the fields shown in a data view, use the “Find in view” search box in the upper right corner of the view. Note that this will only search fields that are displayed, so if you are in a gallery view, you will not be able to use this to search other fields.
If you are using other methods, such as the SEARCH() function or filterByFormula in the Web API, they only search the fields specified.
Thanks Kuovonne, unfortunately we need to set this up using the gallery view.
In case you are talking about search where you do the on-page search by pressing pressing F3 that function mixes with the browser search page function, so it may be you are performing search of the visible text rather than Airtable search function. You may try a different browser and that may help.
