I was just checking out the docs page of airtable interfaces, and this was at the top, updated July 6.
“While elements-based interface layouts are still currently available, we invite you to try the newer table-based interfaces. These layouts offer a more streamlined building process that ensures consistency and efficiency throughout your organization.”
Does that mean they’re completely removing the customizable, drag-and-drop interfaces?
Is this the plan? Because that would completely kill my interfaces.

Did Airtable dropped the ball on interfaces. I spent 2 hours to customize it, publish and then … Share, wait a minute, it says I can’t share. Bah.
Even copying the old interface page into new interface doesn’t upgrade it. So it is likely the Record list selector element (with thumbnails) on the left wasn’t ported into the new interfaces. That makes the interfaces utterly useless. The record picker element is junk. At least they could have warn me in advance the old interface page can’t be shared, I wasted 2 hours.
I looked at Softr but it doesn’t seem interact that way either. Bubble way too complex for me to understand how to set it up and I didn’t try Appsheets. I just need something simple and free.
All I need is a few elements in 3 columns. Example:
Left column Record list which allows me to select the record and the corresponding data is updated on the right.
Middle column single field in Airtable displaying a formula field showing URL links concatenated from data in Airtable. The data in this column displays the data for the currently selected record on the left in the record list.
Right column showing image in the attachment field of the record and another notes field in the record. Another field showing a button which is a URL to a form (I use Airtable forms, but may switch to fillout). The data in this column displays the data for the currently selected record on the left in the record list.
So simple stupid.
Airtable just screwed up on these interfaces with the lack of Record list. I don’t understand why they even offer interfaces. It’s a useless without ability to customize the view.
I know I have the prebuilt app with the record list but that’s so limiting.
Softr does the same thing essentially but better (albeit only 1 app free).
Softr also doesn’t seem to be able to do what I need. I can’t have a record list either. It’s just static showing either items or table etc, but I don’t see how I can have a 2 or 3 column interface where I would be picking the record on the left and showing the data on the right.
I don’t know if I am missing something there…
If I sound frustrated is because it feels bad if you find out time wasted after spending time working on it 
UPDATE:
I just realized even the Record Picker element wasn’t updated to new interfaces either because it is also not available for sharing. It’s available in the New interfaces but it can’t be used with sharing.
Utterly useless these interfaces. Half-way done job.
Interfaces have beed around for a while and I guess all of you knew it already. This is the first time I tried it.
What at waste of potential!!!
